These ruffle tee tutorials (say that 3 times fast!) have been floating around the web for a while now and this morning I had some spare minutes and thought I would give it a go.
Here’s the finished product. I took an old Target long sleeve tee, cut off the sleeves and turned it into this.
I started out with 6 ruffles and when I put on the first 3, I thought that it would be enough just looking at it on the table. Then I put it on…

(dare I actually show my face??)
Now, I’m thinking I need to add at least 2 more ruffles OR a longer ruffle around the neck on the top.
Any thoughts? Opinions?
I will say this was a pretty easy thing to sew. It’s a great way to upcycle a tee that you don’t normally wear anymore. (In my case the sleeves were getting too tight) And while sewing with knits is a little tricky, it was overall pretty simple and great thing to practice with.
